USB Plug For Charging

Using turn-by-turn directions drain battery-life from our phones. Protect your battery and use Story Bike’s integrated USB port so you can charge your phone while you ride to work, school, or around town.

5 Levels of Pedal Assist

Crank the level up when you get tired. Let the bike do more of the work by changing the Pedal assist levels. Got to get to work and don’t want to show up in a sweat? Turn the pedal assist up. Trying to get in some cardio? Turn the pedal assist off.

Hidden Battery

Our unique hidden battery that's built within the frame gives it the sleek look of a traditional bike while giving you the power of a fast and powerful ride!

20 MPH

Story Bikes are equipped with a powerful motor capable of hitting speeds up to 20 MPH. Big hills? No problem. The 350W motor is discreet yet packs a major punch. 250W motors are also offered to comply with international regulations.

45 Mile Range

Ride to the beach, work, grocery store, and back home all on a single charge. Powered by a 36V battery hidden in the down tube of the bike, Story Bikes will get you where you need to go. You can maximize your range by relying less on the motor and more on your output.

Torque Sensing crankset

With the Torque Sensing Crankset you are free to enjoy the pleasures of biking. Equipped with up to six different levels of pedal assist, just apply pressure and the motor will instantly power the bike to your preferred level.

Just get one!

Seriously, just do it. Don’t get stuck thinking about the $3,000 bike or the $7,000 one you’ve been researching. I’ve had my Story bike for 7 months now. My husband has a Faraday that’s now starting to lose it’s verve after a few years. So I needed to keep up with him!

I enjoy my Story bike so much, and rode it around San Francisco for months to and from a small office I was renting. SO glad I bought it instead of buying a new computer. And someone else got a bike because I bought mine. Even better.

Better than I expected! I can ride with ease. Too bad It took so long to reach me, not much weather left to ride in. Shifting is a seamless breeze. Had to replace the “little” saddle for a more comfortable ride.

Hidden Gem

Never hearing of Story bikes during a two year research for an affordable Ebike I ran across the name in an article on affordable Ebikes. I had decided on pedal assist, battery size and weight was important. Reading everything I desired I ordered a commuter bike immediately and couldn’t be happier. Excellent quality of work coupled with smooth gearing and looks. I get compliments and second looks from folks. I love the comfort of assist that allows a moderate workout without the mental strain. And no bottom soreness after hours in the saddle. It’s a hidden gem and I’m spreading the word.

Electric Townie FTW!

Overall, this bike just can't be beat for our needs. We had a long list of requirements that make a great errand/short commute bike and the Story Electric Commuter is the only bike on the market that hit all the important points.
To be the perfect around town bike it had to be/include: Gears, light weight, disc brakes, headlight, fit multiple riders, have enough power to get up our steep hill, fit larger town tires, include fenders and racks, and most importantly, be stealth enough, and low priced enough, to not be afraid to leave it locked up somewhere! There's a few other bikes that hit all these points except they cost more than double so we'd be afraid to ever leave it locked up anywhere rendering those options useless. Plus the adjustable stem makes it easy to switch between riders from 5'5" to 6'1". Even our 6'4" son fits on it relatively well.
Regarding electric bikes in general and for the people on the fence: I'm a seriously competitive cyclist that trains 6 days a week so obviously a hill isn't going to be that big of a deal for me. But you know what? I don't want to come home late at night and get my heart rate high just before going to bed. I don't want to ride in the winter and start with a bunch of clothes then be all hot and sweaty even though it's 20 degrees out. Ebikes are a game changer for us in that they replace car trips and let us get places faster and without showing up a mess.
The only thing I wish it had included was an integrated taillight (and the ability to have the headlight and taillight be on anytime the bike is ridden).

Story Bikes was born from the love of electric bikes and philanthropy.

For EVERY Story Electric Bike Sold, One Buffalo Bike is donated to those in need globally.

The goal of our electric bikes is to get people of all ages back on bikes, out of cars, and living healthier lifestyles by riding more often while reducing their carbon footprint. Riders will also have an immediate impact on a person in need in impoverished parts of the world.

Our Partner

With the help of World Bicycle Relief,  specially designed and locally assembled Buffalo Bikes will be donated to entrepreneurs, farmers, health care workers, and students-- mobilizing people through the power of bicycles. Buffalo bicycles provide greater carrying capacity, enabling farmers and entrepreneurs to transport more goods in less time. Increased productivity leads to improved livelihood and more prosperous communities.

Students reduce travel time to and from school which improves their educational outcomes. More bicycles in the hands of girls and boys in rural regions of the developing world will help lift families and communities out of poverty.
